Google Announces Big Plan to Take Over the Home


Yesterday at Google I/O, Google announced a new IoT system called Project Brillo.

The project is aimed at correcting the fragmentation issues facing IoT (Internet of Things) devices. Because of fragmentation, multiple devices are facing incompatibility issues as each device communicates a different way, and Google hopes to remedy this via Brillo with a new language dubbed “Weave”.

The geeks over at Kubix here in Calgary are really looking forward to Project Brillo and the new innovations it will bring. It’s no doubt that incompatability issues are the prime reason for many people refusing to buy IoT devices and why IoT mass market acceptance hasn’t quite reached the early adopters yet.
